Refund Policy

Effective date: April 8, 2026

Overview

TariffClassify sells classification credits that are consumed when the AI pipeline completes a classification. We stand behind the quality and reliability of the Service and will issue refunds in the circumstances described below.

Eligible refund situations

You are entitled to a credit refund in the following situations:

1. API or service failure

If a credit was deducted but the classification failed due to an error on our end — including an API outage, pipeline crash, or infrastructure failure — the credit will be refunded automatically where possible, or upon request.

2. Grossly inaccurate classification

If the AI returned a classification that is clearly and materially incorrect — for example, classifying a textile garment under a machinery heading — you may request a refund of the credit consumed. We review each request individually and may ask you to provide the product description and a proposed correct HTS code to support your claim.

Note: Refunds are not issued for borderline classification disputes where reasonable interpretations differ, or for classifications that were reasonable but not the one you expected.

Non-refundable situations

Credits are not refunded in the following situations:

  • You changed your mind after a classification was completed successfully.
  • The classification was accurate but did not match your expectation or preference.
  • You submitted incomplete or incorrect product information that led to a less precise result.
  • Credits that have already expired (if an expiry applies to a promotional credit).

How to request a refund

To request a credit refund, email support@tariffclassify.ai with the subject line "Credit refund request" and include:

  1. The email address associated with your account.
  2. The date and approximate time of the classification.
  3. A brief description of the issue (failed pipeline, incorrect result, etc.).
  4. For accuracy disputes: the product you submitted and the HTS code you believe is correct.

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued as credits returned to your account balance — we do not issue cash refunds for individual credits.

Subscription refunds

Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has begun. You may cancel your subscription at any time and you will retain access until the end of the current paid period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for unused days in a billing period.
